Building the Al Ansari Brand on a Legacy of Trust
When Mr. Kabeer Bapputty took sole responsibility for managing Al Ansari Trading, he saw an opportunity to build a dedicated food brand designed around the evolving needs of Qatar’s modern retail sector. Drawing on the company’s trading heritage, he focused on three principles that would define Al Ansari: quality products, dependable supply and strong retail partnerships.
He understood that success in modern retail meant more than getting products onto shelves. It meant offering a comprehensive product range, maintaining consistent quality and ensuring shelves were replenished reliably, so customers could find the products they trusted whenever they needed them.
Honouring a Legacy of Achievement
In 2020, our founder, Mr. Kabeer, was honoured by the Indian Embassy in Qatar in recognition of his efforts and achievements at the Passage to India event held at MIA Park, Doha.
During the event, Mr. Kabeer received the honour from His Excellency Mr. P. Kumaran, the then Ambassador of India to Qatar.
This recognition marks a significant milestone in our founder’s journey, reflecting his years of dedication, commitment, and contributions.
Our Journey
From a Single Room to a Leading Food Brand in Qatar
Al Ansari’s story is one of ambition, perseverance and continuous growth. From a small food operation in Bin Mahmoud with just two delivery vans to a recognised brand supplying major retailers across Qatar, we have continued to invest in our products, people and capabilities for nearly four decades.
Our Family Trading Roots
Ali Akbar Ansari Establishment was established in Souq Al Wakrah as a general trading company, laying the foundations for a family business built on enterprise and trusted relationships
Where Our Food Journey Began
Under the leadership of founder Mr Kabeer, our food business began in a single-room facility in Bin Mahmoud, with just two delivery vans. We initially supplied to the Cooperative Societes (now called Al Meera), building the foundations of the Al Ansari food brand.
Expanding Our Retail Presence
Al Ansari expanded its presence in Qatar's retail market, entering Carrefour at City Center Mall in 2000, Lulu Center in 2001, and Lulu Hypermarket in 2002, strengthening our brand's reach across the growing supermarket sector.
A Dedicated Home for Growth
We consolidated our operations at our fully owned facility in the Industrial Area, creating a stronger foundation for manufacturing, packaging and distribution.
A New Name, One Growing Brand
Ali Akbar Ansari Establishment became Al Ansari Trading Establishment, bringing our business identity and food brand together under one name.
A Distinctive New Look
We introduced refreshed Al Ansari packaging featuring our distinctive yellow-and-red and yellow-and-blue designs, strengthening our brand identity on retail shelves.
